India and Germany cooperate closely in the field of security
Germany and India work together closely in the security sector. The visits of numerous delegations are a reflection of this successful cooperation.
Representatives of the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) and the German Embassy New Delhi conducted a so-called Post-Shipment Check at an Indian Police Unit on the basis of the regulations adopted by the German Government in 2015 for the export of small arms in third countries on 24th May.
With post-shipment controls, the German Government is pursuing the goal of further improving the verification of the end-use of German-made small and light weapons and reducing the risk of accumulation as well as uncontrolled dissemination of these weapons worldwide.
The joint visit for the verification of safe end-use of arms supplied by Germany underlines the trustful character of the bilateral cooperation. The post-shipment control was very successful also thanks to the excellent cooperation and support from the Indian side.
