Explore German Literature at New Delhi World Book Fair
The Cultural Counsellor of the German Embassy, Dietrich Graf von der Schulenburg visited the German Book Office (GBO) stall at the New Delhi World Book Fair on 11th January.
He met the representatives of the German Book Office and the Vice President of the Frankfurt Book fair and discussed the various possibilities to promote German literature in India.
The oldest and one of the largest book events in Asia “New Delhi World Book Fair” is taking place in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This nine-day event will end on 15th January. The theme of the World Book Fair is Manushi, which focuses on writings on and by women and exhibits the rich tradition of women writings from ancient times till present.
German literature lovers may visit the GBO stall in Hall 7ABC, which displays a wide collection of fiction, children’s books, new releases, special interest books and several other books in various areas like architecture, museum, art, etc.
For Indian and foreign publishers the World book Fair is a good platform for business and to discuss the markets, trends, highlights and happenings in their respective countries.
The GBO is a joint venture between the Frankfurt Book Fair and the Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany and promotes cultural exchange in the field of literature.
This year, the fair hosts more than 30 countries and international organisations.
