Indian Philately Exhibition opens in Berlin

India’s rich collection of historical and contemporary stamps are on display till 3 January, 2013 at the Indian Philately Exhibition in Berlin’s Museum for Communication. The exhibition is part of the ongoing year-long celebrations of ‘Days of India’ in Germany that commemorates establishment of 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and the Federal Republic of Germany. 

The exhibition was jointly inaugurated on 6 December by Kamleshwar Prasad, Special Secretary and Member of India's Postal Services Board, Sujatha Singh, Ambassador of India to Germany, Franz-Karl Lindner, Vice-President of the German Philately Exhibition and Dr. Lieselotte Kugler, Director of the Museum for Communication in Berlin.

A Special Cover was also released at the inaugural event, highlighting famous German personalities on whom India Posts have issued stamps in the past. The German Philately Association and Philatelic Clubs are also displaying their rich Philatelic collection of Indian stamps at the exhibition.
