The fourth Petersberg Climate Dialogue is on in Berlin from 5 - 7 May 2013. Under the heading “Shaping the future” Germany and Poland have invited some 35 ministers from all regions of the world. Chancellor Angela Merkel opens the meeting with a keynote address on 6 May.

The Hamburg IBA (Internationale Bauausstellung or international building exhibition) is a bit like a larger-than-life laboratory. Starting in 2007, researchers have been looking at questions such as “How will we solve problems like climate change?” and “Where are we headed, how and where will we live, work, and learn in 20 years?” Their answers have become functional buildings on the Elbe islands that are being exhibited until 3 November, 2013.
