German automotive industry plays key role in campaigns of Indian government
Enlarge image Vinnie Mehta, ACMA, gives a presentation (© German Embassy New Delhi) As part of the Indo-German Automotive Dialogue, the first ever joint seminar on “Options for Propulsion Technologies for On-Road Mobility” was organised by Association of the German Automotive Industry (VDA), Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) on 9th January 2018.
Dr. Jasper Wieck, Deputy Chief of Mission, German Embassy New Delhi, addressed the participants of the seminar. In his speech he underlined that India and Germany cooperate closely in numerous fields, and that the automotive sector is an essential element of the bilateral relations. “The German automotive industry plays a key role in the missions and priorities of the Indian government. For example, with its considerable investments and local manufacturing footprint, it contributes heavily to the ‘Make in India’ mission“. The seminar comprises of three sessions, dealing with different fuels for the light duty drivetrain, developments in electric mobility as well as heavy duty powertrains. It is one among many activities in the framework of the partnership between the three associations VDA, SIAM, and ACMA.
