Ambassador Steiner speaks at IGCC annual meeting in Duesseldorf

Jun 13, 2013

On Thursday, 13 June, nearly 400 high ranking delegates, including political leaders, diplomats and business leaders from Germany and India gathered at the 'Jahrestreffen' – the annual meet of German members of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) in Duesseldorf. Taking place regularly since 1992, the annual meet is a much awaited networking event of the Indo-German business community and the largest India-related business event in Germany.

Addressing the Indo-German business community in Duesseldorf, German Ambassador to India Michael Steiner pointed out that despite current economic setbacks in India, the German economy should not look away until the crisis is over as India's fundamentals are still intact, given for instance the intrinsic entrepreneurial instincts of its business community.

The meet was also addressed by Indian Ambassador to Germany Sujata Singh, President of IGCC and Vice-Chairman of Bosch V. K. Viswanathan and Co-Chairman of Deutsche Bank AG Anshu Jain.
