Schools: Partners for the Future

Education creates prospects – multilingualism opens new horizons. Openness to cultural diversity and tolerance towards other people's distinctiveness are not mutually exclusive. The earlier students realize that they are an international learning community, the more capable they will be of solving the shared global challenges. The partner schools in India and Germany are slated for contributing towards this very goal.
The goal is the build up a worldwide network of at least 1000 partner schools through which to awaken your people's interest in and enthusiasm for modern-day Germany and German society. The networks of German schools abroad and schools offering the German Language Certificate will be strengthened and extended. In addition, cooperation between schools is being expanded to anchor German as a foreign language more firmly in national education systems, in order to develop fruitful and long-lasting ties with Germany and inspire schools, their teachers and students to enjoy an open exchange of views and engage in cooperation.
That is why the German Foreign Office has initiated the project “Schools: Partners for the future”.
In India, there are currently 51 school participating in the initiative. The selected schools become members of the global network. Their teachers are trained and provided refresher courses for teaching German as a Foreign Language, as well as teaching materials. Exchange programmes for teachers and students between the Indian and German partner schools are suggested not only to enhance the language skills but also for overall educational benefits.
