Preserving the environment

Jonas Schulze did his eight-month voluntary service in the framework of the weltwärts-program at Ecumenical Sangam in Nagpur, Maharashtra, a partner of the German sending organization Indo-German Cooperation (Deutsch-Indische Zusammenarbeit e. V.). He worked in the watershed project and established together with his Indian colleagues a phytorid based sewage treatment: This purifies up to 2000 liters of waste water, the water can be used for irrigation of the fields afterwards. Jonas Schulze was involved in the whole process starting with the project idea, the planning process and the implementation. Therefore he was able to get to know the daily work of an Indian NGO in the environmental conservation and protection.
