German Unity Day celebrations at the German Embassy New Delhi
More than 1,500 guests were present at a reception to celebrate the Day of German Unity hosted by the German Ambassador to India, Dr. Martin Ney, at his residence garden on 3rd October.
Ambassador Dr. Ney underlined in his speech the contribution Germany has made towards technological progress in recent centuries as well as today. He stressed that India and Germany were very much alike in their drive for innovation and entrepreneurship: "We complement each other, or as Prime Minister Modi said in May in Berlin, "India and Germany are natural partners".
The event was made possible through a collaboration between the German Embassy New Delhi and the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The guest of honour, Mr. Klaus-Peter Murawski, State Minister and Head of the State Chancellery of Baden-Württemberg, represented the powerhouse of German engineering excellence.
The Bundesjazzorchester, Germany’s official youth jazz orchestra, struck the perfect note for the evening with their mesmerising performance.
