Science Circle Lecture on “Air Pollution, Climate Change and Health” by Prof Dr Rainer Sauerborn

A Science Circle Lecture was organized by the German Embassy New Delhi in collaboration with the German House for Research and Innovation (DWIH) and Heidelberg University on 25th October at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

The lecture on “Air Pollution, Climate Change and Health” was delivered by Prof Dr Rainer Sauerborn, Director, Institute of Public Health, Heidelberg University. Dr. Rainer Sauerborn is a physician by training.
In the past 15 years, he increasingly developed his focus on the impacts of climate change on population health and how households and health services can adapt to protect health. The lecture began with an opening speech by Stephan Lanzinger, Counsellor of Science and Technology Department, German Embassy New Delhi, who highlighted the role of Indo-German cooperation in the field of science and technology, followed by the introduction of Prof Dr Rainer Sauerborn by Heike Mock, Chairwoman, DWIH.
The very informative lecture was followed by an interactive Q&A session and a short piano performance by Dr Rainer Sauerborn.
