Kick-off for German Students National Football Team in India

The DFB's German Student National Football ”Mannschaft” is currently in India to team up with local football talents. They started off on a four city tour on 4th January in Delhi, from which they will be heading  towards Aizawl, Kolkata and Bangalore until the 12th of the month.

Apart from actively taking part in the social projects and visiting youth teams, there are also two friendly matches against local Indian opponents. On 6th January it is against a Mizoram XI in Aizawl and then against Ozone FC Bengaluru on 11th January. The German Student National Team is composed of professional and semi-professional, highly talented footballers, who mainly play in the German 4th division and higher, while also studying at German Universities.

The tour to India is supported by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs besides being organized by the German Football Association (DFB), while it has the support and clearance of the All India Football Federation as the custodians of football in India.

The team arrived in Delhi on 4th January for a day, which included a city tour and an intensive afternoon training camp with the children of NGO STAIRS. On 5th January they will travel to Aizawl, followed by match day on January 6, visit to an orphanage and interaction with the Mizo grass root program. A day later they travel to Kolkata, where the team interacts with children at another football camp. On January 9 the team flies across to Bengaluru for the final-leg of the India trip. On 11th January they play their second match against Ozone FC Bengaluru before flying back to Germany on 12th January.

DFB's German Student National Football Team is currently visiting India from 4th-12th January for a four-city tour. The core content of this visit are two friendly matches against Mizoram XI in Aizawl on 6th January and then against Ozone FC Bengaluru on 11th January.
