Airport Transit Visa
Application procedure:
First-time applicants have to submit the application form along with the required documents in person.

- 2 photographs
- Demand draft for visa fees
- Valid Visa for Country of destination
- flight tickets indicating itinerary and destination
- Declaration of authenticity of documents submitted

Please find below the link to the online Application Form for the Airport Transit Visa. Applicants are requested to fill in the required details. Please write "DEU" in blank no.32. The form then needs to be saved and printed and finally signed by the applicant to be submitted along with the other required documents.

Passport
The Visa section of the German Consulate General can only issue visas to applicants holding a valid passport. The applicants have to present a passport fulfilling the following criteria:
- The passport should have been issued (and not extended) in the last 10 years.
- The passport should contain atleast 2 blank pages.
-The passport should have a minimum validity of 3 months beyond the date of return from the Schengen territory.
Please note: Passports containing illegible data will not be accepted.
Photograph
The photograph must be 35 mm X 45 mm in size with the face covering about three quarters of the area of the photograph. The background of the photograph should be light in color.

Visa Fees
The visa fees are subject to change.
Applicants have to pay the visa fees by demand draft. The Demand Draft must be in the name of the "Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mumbai", payable in Mumbai and must not be older than two months.
Please Note the visa fees will not be reimbursed in case of the visa being rejected. Visa fees will be waived off for spouses and children of EU-Nationals.

Valid Visa for Country of Destination
Applicants applying for the Airport Transit visa must have a valid visa for the country of their final destination.
Besides, applicants are required to show tickets or a valid booking confirmation indicating the itinerary of their trip and its destination, including eventual stop-overs.
Declaration of Authenticity
A Declaration of Authenticity is required to be signed by the applicant as a guarantee that all information and documents provided by the applicant are genuine. Knowingly providing false information may result in the applicant being denied a visa or being deported from Germany, should a visa already have been issued.
