Internship/Training Visa
Application procedure:
First-time applicants should apply for the visa in person at least 3 months prior to departure. Please note the visa processing may take 6 - 12 weeks as all the applications have to be referred to the local German authorities. Simultaneous applications for short term visas and long term visas cannot be entertained.
Please Note short term visas for tourist or visiting purposes cannot be converted into residence permits after arrival in Germany.

Application Form for an Internship/Training Visa
Please find below the links to the online Application Form for an internship/training Visa. The choice of the application form depends on the duration of the internship period. For internships lasting 90 days or lesser, please choose the application form for a Schengen visa. For internships longer than 90 days, please choose the long term visa application form. Applicants are requested to fill in the required details. The form then needs to be saved and printed and finally signed by the applicant to be submitted along with the other required documents.
Passport and Photograph
Passport
The Visa section of the German Consulate General can only issue visas to applicants holding a valid passport. The applicants have to present a passport fulfilling the following criteria:
- The passport should have been issued (and not extended) in the last 10 years.
- The passport should contain atleast 2 blank pages.
-The passport should have a minimum validity of, 3 months (incase of short-term visits) or 12 months (incase of long-term visits), beyond the date of return from the Schengen territory.
Please note: Passports containing illegible data will not be accepted.
Photograph
The photograph must be 35 mm X 45 mm in size with the face covering about three quarters of the area of the photograph. The background of the photograph should be light in color.

Visa Fees
The visa fees are subject to change.
Applicants have to pay the visa fees by demand draft. The Demand Draft must be in the name of the "Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mumbai", payable in Mumbai and must not be older than two months.
Please Note the visa fees will not be reimbursed in case of the visa being rejected. Visa fees will be waived off for spouses and children of EU-Nationals.

Letter from the local employer
Applicants are required to submit a letter of deputation from the local employer in India.In case of internships, marksheets have to be provided at the time of application.
Letter from the host company
Applicants are required to submit a letter from the host company in Germany stating the details of the Internship ( including schedule )
Overseas Medical Insurance
Applicants need to have medical insurance valid for the duration of their stay.
The overseas medical insurance should have a minimum coverage of € 30,000 per person.The claims against the insurance company must be recoverable in the Schengen countries, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
It should cover all expenses that might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment.

Declaration of Authenticity
A Declaration of Authenticity is required to be signed by the applicant as a guarantee that all information and documents provided by the applicant are genuine. Knowingly providing false information may result in the applicant being denied a visa or being deported from Germany, should a visa already have been issued.
