German National Visas

If you plan to live and work or study in Germany for a period of more than 90 days, you will need a German national visa. Please note that for German National Visas, a personal interview at your German Mission is mandatory.

Applicants can book an appointment for National (Long Term) Visa interviews through the VFS Helpline: 022-67866013 or by writing an e-mail at vfshelpline%27%com,infowest%27%germanin

Please Note: Every National-Visa applicant may book ONLY ONE appointment with the VFS. Multiple booking of appointments will NOT be accepted by the German Consulate in Mumbai. In case of multiple bookings for one person, the applicant will lose both/all bookings, and will have to re-apply with the VFS for a later appointment.

Student Visa

Dear Students...

Student applicants that have been allotted visa interview slots for October 2017 are requested to contact their universitites for later enrollments in the semester, and include the subsequent confirmations to their applications to avoid unnecessary delay in the visa application process.

It´s great that there are so many young and ambitious people wanting to study in Germany! However, our waiting lists are long and our capacities for now not equally high. Therefore, we shall ask you to accept the slots being offered to you by our service provider VFS. More so: Please make use of your appointments. If you are unable to attend your interview, please inform VFS 48-hours prior so that slots can be passed on to another applicant on the waiting list.

Thank you for your co-operation. We hope to see you soon.

Do not be Victimised

Do not be Victimised!

It has been brought to our notice that some local agents and student counsellors are charging exorbitant sums of money to schedule visa appointments. The fact of the matter, however, is that ALL visa appoinments are handled ONLY by VFS and at NO COST! We request you to not fall prey to tactics of any person or agency claiming that they can arrange a student-visa interview slot for you at the German Consulate Mumbai. They can't! Also, please refrain from giving out personal details such as passport number, date of birth, etc. to any third party. We request you all to be vigilant in important matters such as these. Thank you!
