MMB - Max Mueller Bhavan (Goethe Institut)
In India the Goethe Institut is known as Max Mueller Bhavan, named after the famous German Indologist Friedrich Max Mueller (1823 – 1900). Max Mueller Bhavan organises and hosts various cultural events featuring performing arts and fine arts. Along with language courses for different levels it also offers seminars for German language teachers and conducts German language exams. In the Consulate’s district you will find MMB in Mumbai and Pune with interesting programmes and information about German culture, society and politics. In Ahmedabad a Goethe-Zentrum is situated that mainly provides language courses.
DAAD - German Academic Exchange Service
DAAD stands for “Deutscher Akademischer Austauch Dienst” that is the German Academic Exchange Service. It is the world’s largest funding organization supporting the international exchange of students and scholars worldwide. DAAD offers scholarships to foreign and German students, supports the internationalisation of German universities, promotes German studies and the German language abroad and fosters educational cooperation with developing countries. Being a renowned and long established institution in the realm of high level education on an international basis it features an impressive network of Alumnis.
The regional office of DAAD in India is based in New Delhi and you will find one of their information centres also in Mumbai.
DSB - Deutsche Schule Bombay
The Deutsche Schule Bombay, founded in 1961, is the oldest international school in Mumbai. Located at theBhulabhai Desai Roadin Mumbai, it is an English and German medium school catering to children between the age group of 3-16 years. It is currently divided into two sections that follow the best practices of the English National Curriculum and the German Curriculum of Thuringia in the respective sections.
The school is a not-for-profit organization and all revenue is devoted to the provision of high quality education.

PASCH - “Schools: Partners for the Future”
“Schools: Partners for the Future” (PASCH) initiative was launched in 2008 by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany. The aim of PASCH is to create and strengthen a global network of some 1500 partner schools with special links to Germany. This is designed to arouse and sustain young people’s interest and enthusiasm for modern-day Germany and the German language – especially in the priority regions of Asia, the Middle East and Central and Eastern Europe.

IGTC - Indo-German Training Centre
