Representation of German states and regions

The federal states of Germany and its regions conduct their independent promotional activities worldwide and thus intensify the bilateral relations on the state and regional levels. Within the jurisdiction of the Consulate General, the federal states of Hamburg, Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia as well as the region of Frankfurt-Rhein-Main have their respective offices, which focus on the economic promotion of their region.
The German-Indian Round Table (GIRT) was set up by Rudolf Weigler in 2001 and represents an affiliation of people with a strong economic and individual interest in India.
The goal of GIRT is to obtain information about India and the nurturing of the German-Indo economic relations. In addition to this, cultural and social indian-activities are also supported through the German-Indian Stammtisch. Establishment of further Stammtische is being worked upon.

The Federal State of Baden-Wuerttemberg addresses itself as "The Sunny Side of Germany" for economic promotion with a special focus on tourism.

The regional office of FrankfurtRheinMain GmbH in Pune conducts local marketing for the Rhine-Main region and the financial and logistical centre of Frankfurt a.M.
Hamburg, the biggest port town of Germany, has an office in Mumbai since 2011. The Hamburg Representation Mumbai provides business contacts to Indian companies, helps Indian companies to establish a base in Hamburg and is available to answer the business related queries of the Indian companies in Hamburg.

NGlobal is an agency operated by the state of Lower Saxony for economic promotion. Extensive investments, foreign trade and local advertising for the state of Lower Saxony are the core tasks of NGlobal. The Representative of the State of Lower Saxony in Mumbai, Mr. Sudhir Patil, supports NGlobal in its activities. In addition, Mr. Patil also represents Messe Hannover or the Deutsche Messegesellschaft AG.
The federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia actively promotes itself and has 2 offices in Pune and Mumbai. The interested companies receive consultation about the market potential and learn more about the surroundings and the investment climate of North Rhine-Westphalia at these offices. North Rhine-Westphalia is the most populated state of Germany and its core region "Ruhrgebiet" was the cultural capital of Europe in the year 2010.
