The Consulate General in Mumbai has a dedicated budget set aside, with which it supports small-scale projects at grassroot levels. The Consulate General makes independent decisions regarding the allocation of funds and extends support to the developmental work of the short-listed projects within the Consulate's jurisdiction. Projects supported in 2011
In 2011 the Consulate General in Mumbai funded the following projects:
- Computer equipments for Sadhana Village in Pune to create an awareness amongst the youth about computer literacy and its benefits in enhancing one's career prospects.
- Project car for Ecumenical Sangam in Nagpur to be able to provide better consulting and assistance in case of familial crisis and domestic violence.
- Solar lamps for All People's Development Welfare Society in Bhopal to be able to install energy-saving and environmental friendly lighting in 3 villages, which would ease the task of doing the household chores during the evening hours.
- Basic furniture and materials for Love and Care Indian Trust in Nagpur for a primary school for street children to provide them with access to basic education.
