It is my pleasure to welcome you to the website of the German Consulate General in Bangalore.
As an export nation and a business location, Germany considers South India, and especially Bangalore, of great significance. Bangalore is where the technological heart of India beats. It is of no surprise that this region acts as a magnet to foreign investors, especially to those from Germany. The very presence of more than 140 Indo-German ventures, with a wide range of investments and a large number of employees, is a very impressive proof to this fact.
The major project ‘Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities’ will provide a new momentum to the development of Indo-German cooperation. The series of programmes with the thematic focus on “CitySpaces” started in Bangalore this September.
Bangalore also has a wide variety of areas in the fields of science and research where it is along with the best in the world. As one of the most innovative industrial countries in the world, Germany is one of the two top partners to India in international scientific cooperation. The amount of initiatives and cooperations that exist in this field proves just how important this partnership is to us. To quote an example: at the end of September 2011, the Indo-German Max Planck Centre for Lipid Research was inaugurated in Bangalore.
With the Consulate General having moved to a new office right in the heart of Bangalore, we are now able to offer comprehensive services to you. You will find all the details on our website.
With warm regards,
Yours sincerely,
Dr. Ingo Karsten.
