Dr. Syed Ibrahim, Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany, officially handed over hearing aids for “St. Clare Oral School for the Deaf” in Kalady, Kerala. The ceremony took place in presence of Sr Alphonsa, Director of the school, and Mr Jürgen Christ, representative of the German NGO “Helfer mit Herz e.V.” that implemented the project.
70 children with hearing impairment, some of them are also orally challenged, will benefit from the project that contributes to their social integration. Mr Christ himself did the fine-tuning of the hearing aids for the children.
The German Consulate General in Bengaluru funded the project within its microproject scheme. The scheme aims at helping local initiatives to advance the social and economic situation of disadvantaged groups of society in different parts of Karnataka and Kerala.
