It provides the German Government with a comprehensive view of the political structures and procedures in Indian politics.

This work is based on the contacts with Indian political parties, parliamentarians, political experts, the administration, media and non-governmental institutions to enhance the understanding of the Indian political reality.

The Embassy’s political officers also inform their Indian counterparts about political developments in Germany, particularly in foreign policy.

The Political section prepares the visits of German politicians to a variety of Indian political institutions, think tanks and non-governmental organisation.
